Following his London solo debut this month, Fightstar frontman Charlie Simpson is heading to Birmingham as part of a six-date regional UK tour.
The former Busted vocalist and lead guitarist will be bringing his acoustic based solo material to the city’s O2 Academy on Friday 1st July, prior to the release of his debut album ‘Young Pilgrim’ on August 15.
‘Down Down Down’, Charlie’s multi-textured debut solo single was Fearne Cotton’s Record of the Week on Radio 1 and is now on the station’s b-list. Produced by Danton Supple (Coldplay, Doves) the track is a harmony flooded alt.ballad inspired in part by Charlie’s love of the Beach Boys, Jackson Browne and Elliott Smith.
A three track EP featuring the original demo of ‘Down Down Down’ is currently available to download free at www.charliesimpsonmusic.com.
Tickets for Charlie’s O2 Academy Birmingham show are on sale now and available from http://www.gigsandtours.com or by calling 0844 811 0051.
