Elvis Presley Birmingham LG Arena 2012
Elvis 'returns' to the stage courtesy of state-of-the-art video projection

This Sunday sees what would have been Elvis Presley’s 77th Birthday, and as the anniversary approaches fans are getting prepared for a special live concert at the LG Arena. On 18 March, fans will get to see a two-hour set performed by Elvis – via video projection – with music by members of the original TCB band and a full orchestra.

Using state-of-the-art video screens, members of the original TCB band, singers and a 16-piece orchestra will perform live in sync with ‘The King’.

All music heard in the concert production is performed live, with Elvis concert footage primarily from the MGM concert films Elvis, That’s The Way It Is (1970) and Elvis on Tour (1972); outtakes from these two films as seen in the video package entitled Elvis, The Lost Performances; and the historic 1973 global television special Elvis: Aloha from Hawaii, via Satellite. The footage contains some of Elvis’ finest performances from the concert era of his career.

For fans of the superstar this will be a musical dream-come-true, getting to see their idol one more time. Throughout the two-hour show, Elvis will perform his greatest and best-loved hits alongside 28 musicians; including some of his original band mates, backing vocalists and full orchestra, under the direction of Joe Guercio.
