Pollyanna Woodward of The Gadget Show World Tour and Gadget Show Live 2012
Gadget Show: World Tour presenter Pollyanna Woodward is back in Birmingham

As one of the newest members of the team, 29-year-old Pollyanna Woodward has proved she’s more than just a pretty face following her debut on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show.

Having joined the telly tech team in 2010, she’s recently completed filming the show’s 17th series which sees her teamed up with original presenter Jason Bradbury for a revamped programme entitled The Gadget Show: World Tour.

The new format propels the tech-loving presenters across the world in pursuit of the latest and best future consumer tech from Japan to Dubai, but before then, Pollyanna and the complete Gadget Show team will be stopping by in Birmingham to showcase the best latest gizmos at Gadget Show Live.  Our Adam Yosef caught up with her to find out more…

.

So Pollyanna, you’re one of the newest presenters of The Gadget Show and now you’re one of only two presenters of the new format, how has the journey been for you and are you missing the old team?

It’s been a brilliant, surprising journey but I love a challenge and trying new things. Though it’s strange not having the other guys around, Jase and I have really embraced the new format in order to make it as informative and techy as possible for the gadget audience.

How exciting is the new globe-trotting format and what have been your filming highlights?

The new format is incredible! It has taken us to some technological hubs all over the globe… it is a constant discovery of uber cool gadgets and tech. There have been an insurmountable number of highlights that you’ll just have to tune in to see.

I can honestly say I do feel like I have the best job in the world and I never take a single day of that for granted.

We’re guessing the streets of Birmingham aren’t as visible in the new format; did you guys miss Birmingham as much as it missed you?

It’s funny how you miss the regularity of things and the familiar. Even though we no longer film there, I do still pop back every six to eight weeks to my hairdressers in Temple Row, so I still get to enjoy the city.

You are, however, returning to the city for Gadget Show Live at the NEC and it’ll be the whole team back again, are you excited?

It’s going to be immense fun, I love Gadget Show Live because it’s a whole week for the fans of the show. It’s an opportunity for us to see how much tech is loved by the masses and that’s truly exciting, plus we get to meet tech and gadget show lovers which I don’t get to do very often as i’m never in the country, so I see the week as a real treat for everyone!

What do fans of the show have to look forward to at the live show and will you be on hand to showcase the latest gizmos?

There will be all things tech there, different zones, different techy transport. Big brands, small brands, independent ones, new tech, established tech and of course the live show which will blow your socks off this year. There is something for everyone.

Will you also be hunting down new gadgets for yourself and do you have any favourites we should look out for?

I am always hunting down new gadgets., that’s half the fun of my job. However, a few things I love and use all the time which you may want to take a look at are the Wowee portable speaker, B&W P5’s, Three Mifi, ACS T1’s (moulded in ear headphones) and the Samsung series 9. They’re pretty much the contents of my travel bag!
