YouTube legend Ken Block to burn rubber at Top Gear Live

YouTube legend Ken Block is ready to show off his skills at Top Gear Live

Having taken the Internet by storm, Ken Block is gearing up to thrill crowds at next week’s Top Gear Live show at Birmingham’s NEC.

The Californian extreme sportsman who has wowed more than 200 million YouTube viewers with his spectacular stunt-filled Gymkhana viral videos will be bringing his madcap motoring movies to life during both of Thursday’s action-packed Track Performances.

Top Gear Live will be a rare UK performance from the legendary Block and his Monster World Rally Team. While the indoor Track Performance arena at the NEC won’t provide quite the same backdrop as Block’s latest Gymkhana episode, set on the streets of San Francisco, fans can still expect a memorable display of car control as the American hero unleashes his souped-up Ford Fiesta rally car and delivers an amazing series of dramatic tyre trashing drifts and donuts.

Ken Block will be joined at Top Gear Live 2012 by his Monster World Rally Team

Block is no stranger to viewers of the BBC Top Gear television programme. A couple of years ago he took one of the presenters, James May, for a few hundred spins around a deserted airport. May will also be at Top Gear Live – he joins Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond in hosting the live Arena Performance that follows all nine of the Track Performances staged over the four days at the NEC.

.

Although selected seats for several Top Gear Live shows are now completely sold out, there are still some tickets on sale for those wanting to catch Ken Block and his Monster World Rally Team on Thursday.

Tickets are available from the official topgearlive.co.uk website or by calling 0871 230 5588. Adult admission prices start from just £49*. With many schools on half-term at the end of October, a ‘Kids Go Free’ promotion is available for accompanied children (aged between 5 and 15 years old) on Thursday and Friday, while special ‘Family Tickets’ are on offer for both Saturday and Sunday. Full details of all Top Gear Live tickets can be found on the topgearlive.co.uk website. (* Booking fee applies, calls cost 10p per minute plus network extras).
