Local hospice launches Hero Fun Run

Sam Reader and Ben Towler from EDGE Creative getting ready for the Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice Heroes Fun Run

Men across Birmingham are being asked to step up to the plate and become a hero by taking part in Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice’s latest fundraising event.

The men-only Hospice Heroes Fun Run is taking place on Sunday 24 March at Bournville College and is an opportunity to raise vital funds for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice. Participants can choose between a 5km or 10km route and whilst fancy dress is optional, it is very much encouraged.
Two ‘heroes-in-training’ who have already signed up are Sam Reader and Ben Towler who work at EDGE Creative, part of the team who are also behind the eye-catching artwork for the event.

Sophie Overend from EDGE Creative said “We are delighted to be involved with such a fun event and already have our costumes lined up. It is also a great opportunity to support a cause that is so important to so many people in Birmingham.”

Claire Marshall, Head of Income Generation and Marketing added “It costs £7million a year to run the Hospice and therefore anyone who raises money for us is really a hero to us. It was because of this that we decided to hold this event.”
