“Bollox!”: Dawn French’s hilarious response to magazine’s facelift claim

Veteran British comedian Dawn French has tweeted a hilarious oh-so-sweet and simple response to a magazine cover headline asking if she’d had a facelift.

Snapping back at a photo of her looking slim on the cover of Woman Magazine, which was accompanied by the headline: “Is a facelift behind Dawn’s new look?”, the 60-year-old responded with a lengthy “HA HA HA…” followed by a swift hashtag calling out #bollox.

In an appearance on talk show Loose Women earlier this month, comedy legend Dawn attributed her svelte new look to shedding an incredible seven-and-a-half stone over the past few years, and showing off more of her face after getting of her trademark fringe, for her role on Sky drama series Delicious.

But that hasn’t stopped the literary beacon of enlightenment that is Woman Magazine and its cover story from questioning if Dawn’s been under the knife.

In fact, in recent months, it hasn’t stopped them from asking if Michelle and Mark’s marriage was “at breaking point” (who?), if Louise and Jamie were having a “surprise reunion” (so much for the surprise), and announcing that Kate was having her “worst week ever”, while Diana was having her “REVENGE!”.

They certainly know how to get those scoops at Woman Magazine, that’s for sure. Can’t be easy when rotating the same eight women on the front-page over the course of a year, although we do wonder these editions will be archived in the British Library for historic posterity.
