Royal couple Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were in Birmingham on Thursday to mark International Women’s Day, visiting the Millennium Point in Eastside and community projects in Nechells.

The engaged couple were at the venue to encourage female students to pursue careers in subjects like science and maths, and inspire young women pursuing STEM careers. During the visit, they met secondary school girls from Oasis Academy in Worcester as well as local students.

Hundreds of Brummies and well-wishers from across the West Midlands congregated hours before the prince and his bride-to-be arrived at Millennium Point, which is home to the Thinktank and Birmingham Science Museum.
