West Midlands Fire Service have 15 fire engines in Inkerman Street in Nechells, Birmingham, tackling a huge fire at what is believed to be a chemical factory.

Fire fighters have advised anyone living close to the location to “close their doors and windows for the time being due to large volumes of smoke”.

Some local residents as far as Bordesley Green have reported being able to smell the smoke and of hearing “explosions”.
