Thousands of people gathered in Birmingham’s Small Heath park to mark the start of Eid celebrations.
With clouds parting to let through sunshine on Tuesday morning, men and women from across the region congregated in the city for special outdoor prayers to mark the start of Eid al-Adha.
The three-day festival – which consists of family festivities, feasts, gifts and cultural celebrations – began for most of the city’s Muslims on Tuesday (21 Aug), with some beginning their celebrations on Wednesday (22 Aug).
