Edgbaston Village launches first ever Open Weekend showcasing music, food and lifestyle fare

Calthorpe Estates is giving visitors a flavour of what Edgbaston Village has to offer at the first ever Open Weekend.

On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 September from 10am until late, people are invited to enjoy special events, demonstrations and discounts at an array of bars, restaurants, shops and attractions in and around the Village – less than a mile from Birmingham city centre.

There will be something for everyone, from wine tasting sessions at Loki Wine and interior designer talks at Neptune, to storytelling at Boston Tea Party and free facials at the Westbourne Centre.

Visitors will have the opportunity to get creative with faux flower workshops at OKA or pizza making classes for children at Laghi’s Deli. If you want to get moving, Blue Piano will have live Jazz music, whilst Anytime Fitness has a packed weekend planned full of classes, competitions and giveaways.

For foodies there will be some tasty events and deals on offer including, a dessert pairing with a champagne cocktail at The Edgbaston for just £10 per person, or dine at Simpsons and get 10% off their lunchtime menu plus the opportunity meet the chefs and take a tour of the Michelin-starred restaurant.

Visitors to El Borracho de Oro can enjoy a free portion of patatas bravas with any carafe of wine, while the little ones can tuck into complimentary churros and chocolate when accompanied by a dining adult.

Within walking distance of Edgbaston Village, those wanting to try their hand at a new sport can visit the Edgbaston Priory Club who will be holding introduction sessions to squash, racket ball and cardio tennis. There will also be taster golf sessions for beginners at Edgbaston Golf Club, and target bowling for children at Central Edgbaston Bowling Club.
