A section of Green Lane on the border of Small Heath and Bordesley Green has been cordoned off by West Midlands Police this evening.
The section of the street between Third Avenue and Imperial Road, near Marlborough Junior School, was completely sealed off to traffic as police launched an investigation.
No confirmed details are available as yet but a local individual who lives on the stretch of Green Lane that is cordoned off has posted a comment on social media where he alleges:
“Police are searching for firearms in one of the properties.”
Another resident stated:
“I’ve seen an ambulance and stretchers outside one of the houses in Green Lane where the police have closed off the street.”
Police stopped all traffic from entering this section of Green Lane at approximately 8:30pm.
