Shocking video footage has emerged that shows the moment a teenager was kicked and punched to the ground by a group of men in Castleford Road in the Sparkhill area of Birmingham.

The junction of Stratford Road and Castleford Road came to a standstill after a gang of men, including one who was bare chested, attacked a teenager around 7:15pm on Saturday 13th April.

West Midlands Police have confirmed that an investigation is underway after locals reported the assault which left the teenage victim with injuries.

The vicious attack was filmed by motorists who were stuck in the traffic.

In one video clip, filmed from inside a car by a witness, a group of men can be seen seen surrounding one person and a man who is described as bare chested throws several punches at the victim.

In another video the same bare chested attacker and several other men are seen kicking the victim into what looks like an unconscious state before walking away from the scene. The bare chested attacker then gets into a grey Audi (number plate HF66 WXX) and speeds off.

Witnesses to the incident are heard saying:

“I think they’ve killed him!”

Members of the public offered first aid to the victim and called for an ambulance.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed that the teenager was taken to hospital for treatment.
