Officers investigating after a man was found with head injuries on Bescot Street, Walsall on Saturday 22 June, have launched an appeal.
The 31-year-old was taken to hospital with skull fractures and a bleed on the brain after he was found in the street at 5.25pm.
He remains in a series condition and has so far been unable to speak to officers or give an account of what happened.
An investigation has been on-going and it’s understood that as the man walked down Bescot Street, towards Milton Street, he was approached by a black man, wearing a white top.
This man launched an attack close to Palfrey Infant School kicking the victim in the head and assaulting him as he lay injured on the floor. The reason for the assault in unknown and it’s unclear whether the two men know eachother.
A car was in the vicinity of the attack at the time- the people in this car are likely to be key witnesses – and detectives are keen for them to come forward.
