A man was arrested this morning after he was spotted breaking car windows in the Small Heath area of Birmingham.
The individual was spotted smashing windows and trying to open doors of parked cars along Mansel Road and Burlington Road in Small Heath this morning around 8:30am as parents walked their children to school.
The individual was seen using his mobile phone as he walked along the pavement and broke car windows with what was described by onlookers as some kind of “tool”.
Many of the small children on their way to school were shocked and scared by what they saw, according to eyewitnesses. Some of the children were crying but the parents were too frightened to confront the individual.
One parent, who wishes to remain anonymous, told I Am Birmingham:
“It was very scary. The sound of breaking glass shook me up and my kids began to cry. The guy just carried on and didn’t seem to care at all.”
Police arrived at the scene very quickly and arrested the man. The man put up a struggle but officers quickly restrained him and removed him from the scene.
