A woman is fighting for her life after she was allegedly thrown out of a third floor window in a block of flats in Erdington.
The 24-year-old fell from a tower block in Birmingham on Saturday evening, around 7pm, and was rushed to hospital, where she remains in a seriously critical condition.
She was treated at the scene in Tower Road by paramedics before being taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. It is believed the injured woman suffered multiple fractures after being hurled out of the building.
Responding to the incident, police have arrested a man, 30, and a woman, 28, on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police detectives have been working at the site of the incident since Saturday, investigating the circumstances around the fall; as officers were photographed placing a forensic tarpaulin over an area outside the residence.
A source told reporters: “It looks like she was thrown out – they just hurled her out of the block.
“It’s a miracle she’s still here, it must be touch and go.”
West Midlands Police said: “The 24-year-old was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
“A 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
“The woman is also being questioned on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.”
Officers are urging anyone with information and those who witnessed what happened to contact West Midlands Police via their website or call 101 anytime, quoting the log number 2183 of February 8.
