A 19-year-old teenager from Solihull appeared in court today (14th February) charged with terrorism offences.
Samuel Newey, from Solihull, was arrested on Friday 7th February and charged on Thursday 13th February.
According to police he is charged as follows:
Between 1st November and 7th November 2019, within the jurisdiction of the Central Criminal Court, Samuel Thomas Francis Newey, with the intention of assisting Daniel Newey to commit, prepare or instigate an act of terrorism, engaged in conduct in preparation for giving effect to his intention.
Contrary to Section 5(1)(b) Terrorism Act 2006.
Samuel Newey appeared at Westminster Magistrates alongside 49-year-old Paul Newey who is charged with funding terrorism.
