A double murder enquiry has been launched by police after two women were stabbed at home this morning in Moseley.

West Midlands Police were called to a property in Belle Walk, Moseley, at around 11am on 16th March 2020 after reports about a domestic disturbance.

A woman, aged 43, was found with stab injuries inside the house and was pronounced dead at the scene according to West Midlands Police.

A second woman, aged 52, was found at a house next door with serious injuries and despite the best efforts of medical staff she also died from her wounds.

Police have confirmed a 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Detective Inspector Nick Barnes from the homicide team, said:

“The tragic events of this morning appear to be domestic related as it’s thought the suspect and the two victims are known to each other.

“We’ve closed the area while forensic examinations are carried out and we’ve got specially trained officers supporting the families at this devastating time.

“Two women have lost their lives and we’re doing all we can to understand the circumstances of this tragedy.”
