Days after the shocking drive-by shooting in Bordesley Green another shooting took place last night in Great Hampton Street, Birmingham.

Police are appealing for information after a young man, believed to be 20yrs-old, was shot just before 7pm on Tuesday in Hockley.

As police continue a manhunt for the brutal drive-by shooting in Palace Road, Bordesley Green, another shocking drive-by shooting took place in the Hockley area of Birmingham last night.

A shot is understood to have been fired from a car in Great Hampton Street just before 7pm. The car immediately sped off after the shooting.

The young victim was taken to hospital with head injuries and he remains in a serious condition.

There were reportedly a number of people in the area at the time and detectives are urging them to come forward with information.

Detective Inspector Jim Church, from CID, said:

“We’re in the process of trying to establish the circumstances around this shooting.

“We’ve recovered CCTV from the area and enquiries to identify the car and gunman are under way.

“We know there were a number of people in the area at the time of the shooting who’ve not yet spoken to us.

“A young man has been left in a serious condition in hospital but with their help we can catch whoever was responsible.”
