A Birmingham man has been charged with the brutal death of a little toddler at a property in The Green, Northfield.

The 21-month-old girl was found unconscious with a serious head injury at an address in The Green, Northfield, on 19 November 2017 and she tragically died two days later in hospital from the wounds.

Sean Sadler, aged 31, of Coriander Close, Rubery, was apprehended and charged with suspicion of murder in 2019.

“This is a terribly sad case which has resulted in the death of a little girl,” said Inspector Ian Wilkins, from West Midlands Police CID, when the appalling crime came to light in 2017.

Sadler was formally charged with murder and wounding for his sickening crime and the case will be heard at Birmingham Magistrates Court.

A police spokesman said a 30-year-old woman, who was arrested at the time of the crime, was released without charge.
