A motorcyclist has tragically lost his life after an accident near Cranes Park Road in the Sheldon area of Birmingham yesterday afternoon.

A 27-year-old man suffered serious injuries and despite the best efforts of air ambulance medical staff he sadly died at the scene.

Police have launched an appeal to the public for information and dashcam footage after a motorcyclist tragically died in Sheldon.

Officers were called to the junction of Cranes Park Road and Warmington Road at about 2.50pm yesterday (31 May).

A man riding a Triumph Speedmaster motorcycle is understood to have fallen off the bike which then struck an Audi car.

An air ambulance crew landed at nearby Sheldon Country Park to offer medical aid to the victim but despite their best efforts the man sadly died at the scene of the accident.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “A young man has tragically lost his life and his family are naturally devastated.

“We have specialist officers supporting them at this difficult time.

“I am urgently appealing for anyone with information who hasn’t already spoken to us to make contact.

“I am particularly keen to hear from anybody who witnessed the collision or saw the bike just beforehand, and in particular may have CCTV or dashcam footage.”
