Violent thugs beat and rob defenceless victim near West Midlands Police headquarters

A shocking video has been released which shows a gang of thugs savagely assaulting and robbing a defenceless man as he cowered on the ground in Birmingham city centre yesterday (28 June).

The 40-year-old victim was set upon by the feral gang in Corporation Street, not far from police headquarters, at around 6pm and robbed of his wallet and keys.

The poor victim was traumatized and left with nasty head injuries. He was rushed to hospital and received treatment to a badly bruised eye and there is a possibility of a fracture after one of the attackers savagely stamped on his head.

Police are “horrified” and said the situation “could have ended far worse than it has”.

The level of savagery perpetrated by the cowardly gang against a lone victim has left detectives shocked and disgusted.

The disturbing footage shows several people witnessing and filming the shocking incident.

Police are urging them to contact detectives as soon as possible so that the gang can be identified and arrested for their daring and brutal crime which took place right in the heart of Birmingham city centre and in close proximity to police headquarters.

Detective Inspector Gemma Currie said: “We’re horrified at the violence used towards this man who simply curled himself into a ball to escape the onslaught.

“Footage shows several people in the area who may have footage or information which could assist and there will be many more who recognise them.

“This could have ended far worse than it has and we would urge you to do the right thing and contact us.”

There has been criticism on social media with people questioning the lack of a fast police response to this savage attack which happened within walking distance of Lloyd House, the headquarters of West Midlands Police.
