Plumes of smoke visible for miles over Birmingham as fire rages in Tyseley

West Midlands Fire Service have issued a warning for residents to stay safe to keep “doors and windows closed” as a “severe” fire rages at an industrial estate in the Tyseley area of Birmingham this evening.

Plumes of black smoke can be seen for miles as firefighters bravely try to control the fire at the industrial unit in Tyseley.

Over 50 firefighters are currently at the scene and people are being urged to stay indoors and close their windows.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service said: “We currently have 10 appliances plus specialist appliances in attendance at a severe fire at Tyseley Industrial Estate.

“Please keep doors and windows closed.”
