Detectives investigating the fatal stabbing of Thomas Rogers in Bristol Road already have his two brothers on a murder charge and have now charged a fourth man in connection with the shocking knifing.

The latest person to be taken into custody is Macauley Welby who was arrested in Mansfield on Wednesday (23 Sept) in connection with the slaying of 26-year-old Mr Rogers in August.

Mr Rogers was found with serious knife wounds to his chest near the junction of the busy Bristol Road and Mill Pool Way, Bournbrook, on Saturday 22 August.

He was rushed to hospital by paramedics but sadly died shortly after his arrival around 6:15pm.

Three men – including two of Mr Roger’s brothers, were arrested and charged with the appalling murder.

The two brothers were identified as Samuel Rogers, 30, of St Michael’s Street in Sutton-in-Ashfield, and David Rogers, 32, of Nora Street, South Shields

A third man, who was arrested in connection with the brutal stabbing, was named by police as Ryan Hurt, 22, of Peel Crescent in Mansfield.

The most recent arrest, which brings the number of perpetrators to four, is Macauley Welby, who was arrested in Mansfield on Wednesday (23 Sept).

The 22-year-old, of no fixed address, was brought to the West Midlands to be interviewed and charged to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court.
