Third man charged with the murder of Rowley Regis dad Carl Woodall

West Midlands Police have charged a third man with the murder of Carl Woodall after he was found dead in a unit on an industrial estate in Rowley Regis last month.

The 44-year-old father-of-five died from multiple injuries in Doulton Road on 28 June.
Mark Campbell was arrested in Bradford on Thursday (8 July) and brought back for questioning by West Midlands Police officers, where the 39-year-old, of Glaisdale Drive East, Nottingham, was charged with murder.

He will appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (10 July).

James McGhee, aged 27 and Simmion Goldbourne aged 28, have already been charged with Carl’s murder and have been remanded in custody until their next court appearance.

Detective Inspector Hannah Whitehouse, from our homicide team, is leading the investigation. She said: “Our investigation is progressing rapidly and we are following up several lines of enquiry in our quest to bring Carl’s killers to justice.

“Carl’s family have been fully updated with the latest developments and our thoughts remain with them as they continue to grieve his loss.”

Mr Woodall’s family released a tribute after his death, describing him as “quiet and unassuming”.

They said: “He leaves behind five children who now face a future without a loving father.

“Quiet and unassuming by nature this is a tremendous loss to us and the friends around him.”

Flowers and beer were also left at the scene, along with written tributes including one which said: “I love you dad and I wish you was here right now.”

If you have any information relating to this case, please contact West Midlands Police via their website or call them on 101, quoting log number 3064 of 28 June.
