A Birmingham 2022 roadshow event to promote next year’s Commonwealth Games has been taking place at New Street Station today.
One of several mini outings showcasing live sport in the run up to the Games, the interactive New Street Station event including table tennis and 3×3 wheelchair basketball, with passers by encouraged to join in.
The official Birmingham 2022 mascot Perry was also on hand to meet and greet visitors and take photos with fans.
The bright and boldly branded indoor court was set-up within the station’s open concourse just under the main departure and arrivals screens.
Alongside Birmingham 2022 flags and banners, the West Midlands Police and British Transport Police were also present, distributing information about their role in preparations for the international sporting event.
The team from Birmingham 2022 were at the station between 9:00am – 4:30pm.
