Police have arrested two men and seized weapons after reports of clashes between two groups in Birmingham city centre this afternoon.
The incident happened in Corporation Street by the Square Peg at around 5.15pm after staff there reported two teenagers running into the pub, one of whom was bleeding from a head wound.
West Midlands Police were told staff at the establishment did a great job in quickly locking up to ensure no-one followed the pair inside; no customers or staff were hurt.
Two machetes were seized from the pub and both men arrested on suspicion of possessing knives.
Police believe the two had been involved in a disorder nearby and WMP officers are looking for others who may have been involved, “understood to be targeted attacks between groups, not random attacks in the street,” according to the force.
Police have urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or has video footage, to contact them via Live Chat, their website or call 101 quoting log 3242 from 1 Oct.
