Armed made arrests and seized a large zombie knife following a stabbing in Fazeley Street, Birmingham, in the early hours of Monday night.

After reports of a fight in Digbeth police arrested a group of men on Monday (13 December) in the city centre and seized a dangerous weapon at the scene.

A police car that was patrolling central Birmingham spotted a group of men at around 3am on Monday (13 December) after reports were logged of an attack in the Digbeth area of the city.

A police spokesperson said: “Four men matching the descriptions were spotted in Albert Street and during a search we found the serrated knife tucked inside one of their waistbands.

“A 21-year-old was arrested on suspicion of knife possession and wounding.”

Three other males – two aged 20 and a 19-year-old – were also arrested on suspicion of wounding at the scene.

Officers seized the huge zombie knife and the four men were later bailed.

Detectives are investigating the case and looking into the incident which involved a brawl in Fazeley Street that resulted in a man suffering a stab wound.

The 46-year-old victim remains in hospital.
