Blazing inferno at Small Heath barber shop brought under control by 40 firefighters

Fire crews from six stations fought through the night to bring a major blaze under control at a barber shop in Green Lane, Small Heath, in the early hours of Tuesday.

The fire raged through Mujahid’s Hairdresser in Green Lane in the Small Heath area of Birmingham on Tuesday (4th January).

The fire was brought to the attention of emergency services around 12:45am and within minutes the police, fire teams and ambulance crews arrived at the scene.

Green Lane, where the fire incident took place, is a major transport route that borders Small Heath and Bordesley Green and is used on an almost daily basis by the three emergency services, including public transport which links the local area to the city centre.

Forty firefighters were despatched to the location to tackle the fiery inferno.

Fire crews from Ladywood, Hay Mills, Ward End, Highgate, Sheldon and Billesley fought side-by-side to tackle and control the fire from spreading in the residential area.
