A cyclist has tragically died following a fatal collision with a car in Solihull this morning (12 January).
The horrific accident happened on Friday Lane, on the stretch between Hampton Lane and the M42, in Barston at around 10am on Wednesday.
Police and two ambulance crews arrived at the scene where a collision between a car and pushbike left the cyclist with serious injuries.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics the female victim, who was in her 40s, sadly died at the scene.
A police spokesperson said: “Her family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this distressing time.
“We’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have information or dash cam footage.”
Police closed the road after the tragedy to investigate the circumstances around the collision.
The driver of a Nissan Juke remained at the scene following the collision and is currently assisting police with enquiries. The driver did not require any medical attention.
