Police have launched an appeal for information after a teenage boy was stabbed in Birmingham city centre on Thursday morning (16 February).
The shocking knife attack took place in Steelhouse Lane at around 5.30am.
The 16-year-old victim was rushed to hospital for treatment following the crime.
West Midlands Police are speaking to witnesses, conducting a trawl of CCTV in the area and have forensically examined the scene where the stabbing took place.
Speaking about the dangers of knife crime a police spokesperson urged parents to speak to their children: “Knife crime is an issue which affects us all.
“We cannot do it alone – we need help from the community and parents in tackling knife crime. We’re urging parents to speak to their children about the devastating impact of carrying knives.”
