Birmingham Rum Festival set to make a comeback in Moseley

The Birmingham Rum Festival is returning to The Cuban Embassy in Moseley for its fifth public celebration.

After having to cancel and rearrange twice due to the pandemic,  this year’s festival is a superb showcase of rum with the taste of the Caribbean, against a backdrop of fantastic Latin American style and pizzazz.

The Birmingham Rum Festival will welcome visitors to try and learn more about a range of rums

The festival will welcome drinkers to learn all about where the rum in their glass came from and the rich history behind each sip; at an establishment which stocks over 100 rums, including Birmingham-based Burning Barn, Island Slice and Bay Noir.

“We have some fabulous rum brands joining us this year, including Diablesse, IM Drinkin, Island Slice, Wildjac and B Rum, as well as our headline sponsor Elsha!” organisers said.

“There will be a range of cocktails available to try, plus the option to take home a bottle (or two!) of your favourite from the rum shop.”

The Birmingham Rum Festival will also be showcasing Caribbean and Latin American music and style

A Birmingham Rum Festival spokesperson told I Am Birmingham: “We’re very excited to bring this event back after the past two years. So many new rums have come to market and we are excited to bring them to our rum lovers. Expect great rum, new stories and a carnival vibe this Summer at The Cuban Embassy.”

The Cuban Embassy in St Mary’s Row – formerly known as The Bulls Head – will also be serving exotic street food with authentic Caribbean flavours, accompanied by live music performing salsa, samba and reggae favourites during the event.

There will be two sessions of rum fun on Saturday 2 July, with afternoon tickets are from 12pm until 4:30pm. Evening tickets are from 5:30pm until 10pm with prices starting at just £15. To book tickets, click here.
