Huge turnout expected in Aston Park for funeral prayer of teenage boxer Ali Tazeem

Hundreds of mourners and fans are expected to attend the funeral of teenager boxer Ali Tazeem who was killed in a car crash in Wolverhampton last Sunday.
The funeral prayer service for the talented young Midlands boxer will be held in Aston Park, Birmingham, today (Friday 22 April).
Ali Tazeem, 18, who was tipped to become a boxing legend, tragically died at the scene of a car crash which took place in Wolverhampton on Easter Sunday morning.
Tazeem’s family have announced that a funeral prayer, including speeches and tributes by friends and public figures, will take place in Aston Park, Birmingham.
The event is expected to start at 5:30pm and organisers have appealed to attendees to arrive on foot, and if travelling from further afield to use public transport to avoid causing traffic issues in the local area.
Ali Tazeem Tazeem, who was born in the Midlands, was seen by many as a future British boxing talent due to his lightening fast speed and stamina.
The talented teenager had won 51 amateur bouts, and had amassed 15 gold medals from major international boxing matches. He had signed a professional contract with Sam Jones’ Probellum just three weeks before his untimely death and had recently trained with Floyd Mayweather Snr.
Boxer Amir Khan – former unified light-welterweight world champion – had seen Tazeem perform and proclaimed that the teenager was the “next Amir Khan” who would go on to become a legend.
Amir Khan Khan,who was raised in Bolton, travelled to the West Midlands on Easter Sunday to meet Tazeem’s family members and offer up prayers at a mosque.
Speaking about his visit, Khan said: “Went to show my respect for loss of my dear friend Tee’s son, Ali Tazeem.
“Rip champ, a big loss for the British Asian boxing community.”]
The young boxer’s death has left many people deeply shocked and heartbroken and social media tributes are pouring in from friends and fans of Tazeem.
