The family of a Small Heath woman who was killed in a frenzied knife attack have issued a heartfelt tribute.

Shannon Stanley was found with fatal stab wounds in Mount Pleasant on Tuesday (10 May) and sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Shannon, aged 27, suffered a savage knife attack at a property in Mount Pleasant in Small Heath at 12.30am.

West Midlands Police family liaison officers are currently supporting the family and loved ones of the victim during their time of grief.

The grieving family have issued an emotional tribute to Shannon and made a public plea for privacy as they deal with the tragedy.

The family tribute reads: “Shannon was a much-loved daughter, sister, niece and cousin. She had many friends that also loved her dearly.

“She will be missed by us all and we ask as a family that we are allowed to grieve privately at this sad time.”

A police spokesperson stated that a man named Pablo Hoad, aged 27, was arrested from an address near the scene of the killing at around 1am on Tuesday morning.

Hoad has been has been charged with murder and is set to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court tomorrow (Thursday 12 May).
