Police have named a woman who was murdered in Mount Pleasant, in the Small Heath area of Birmingham, on Tuesday (10 May).
Shannon Stanley, aged 27, tragically died at the scene after being stabbed by her attacker.
The victim was discovered with fatal stab wounds around 12:30am on Tuesday at an address in Mount Pleasant, a cul-de-sac off the Coventry Road near the Bordesley Circus roundabout.
A police spokesperson said specialist officers are supporting the family of victim Shannon Stanley.
West Midlands Police confirmed a man aged 27 was arrested on suspicion of murder following the savage killing.
The man was apprehended at an address near to the scene of the knife attack at around 1am yesterday morning. He remains in police custody as officers conduct an investigation into the horrific killing.
A 24-year-old woman was also arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder but was later released on police bail.
