Birmingham paedophile beast admits to sexually assaulting two little girls

A Birmingham paedophile beast who admitted five charges of sexually abusing two little girls was jailed on Friday.

Trevor Spurrier, aged 47, began his horrific abuse of the first girl by sexually touching her on a number of occasions, moving on to his second victim some time later.

The two victims were too young and innocent to understand the sexual horror being perpetrated by the paedophile monster.

The tragic victims reported the abuse when they were older and detectives from the Public Protection Unit began their enquiries into the horrifying ordeal endured by the little girls.

Throughout the investigation, which lead to Spurrier’s arrest in June 2020, the officer in charge of the case was in regular contact with the victims, guiding them through the legal process and getting them support from organisations who could help them deal with what they had been through.

Spurrier, from Harborne Lane, admitted five charges of sexual assault at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday 10 June.

The twisted paedophile was jailed for six years and nine months. He will also be placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

DC Nicky Simms, from the Public Protection Unit, said: “Spurrier committed awful sexual offences, taking advantage of the girls’ age and lack of understanding.

“These offences have had a significant impact on both victims’ lives and despite this they have conducted themselves with dignity throughout, and I hope that this sentence gives them some closure on that horrific part of their lives. They were so brave to speak out. They are an inspiration to so many.

“This case also highlights that it doesn’t matter if the offences are non-recent, we take reports of sexual abuse seriously and work with survivors to get them the support they need and bring offenders to justice.”

The two brave victims issued a shared statement thanking the police and encouraging other young victims of sexual abuse to come forward and receive support rather than suffer in silence.

They said: “We are very grateful for all the support the police have given us.

“We could not have gone through this without all their kindness and understanding and we absolutely urge anyone who has gone through a similar experience, or who is still going through it, to tell someone and get some help.

“There is light at the end of the tunnel.”
