A car crashed into a tram stop in the heart of Birmingham city centre this afternoon just before 4pm.
The collision took place in Broad Street near the junction of Sheepcote street shortly before 4pm on Tuesday (4 July).
The front of the car was lodged into the tram stop with glass littering all over the pavement and road.
The front wheels and bonnet of the car showed serious damage, and a section of the tram stop was shattered in the crash.
The position of the car, which blocks the tram tracks that lead into the city centre, is likely to cause travel disruption as peak travel time approaches.
There are no official details from emergency services about what caused the accident or whether there were any injuries.
This is a developing story which will be updated as more details are known.
