A gigantic but risqué mural has appeared in Southside to celebrate Birmingham Pride 2019, which takes place this May Bank Holiday weekend.
Local Birmingham street artist Gent48 has painted the huge new wall art, with the word ‘BRUM’ taking centre stage in the massive creation that covers an entire carpark wall in the city’s Gay Village.
Painted on a wall inside the Mixmag Dance Arena space which has access via Hurst Street, the street art features naked bodies and depicts visual representations of sexuality.
The Mixmag Arena will be predominantly, but not exclusively, be dominated by artists and acts who identify as female.
Workers are currently at the site setting up the space for Birmingham Pride celebrations, which will take place in Southside this weekend.
Gent48 has previously taken part in Birmingham based street art festivals such as Hi Vis Fest and City of Colours.
His style of painting is very distinctive and recognisable, and this new wall will generate lots of interest from his fans and also the visitors who will be flocking down for the annual Birmingham Pride weekend.
