A up-and-coming Shropshire teen singer will help her hometown celebrate the start of the festive season with a special performance at its annual Christmas Lighting Up Night.
17-year-old Jen North from Bridgnorth will light up the stage in the town’s high street for an hour-long Christmas performance from 7pm on Friday 22 November, marking the close of the lights switch-on event.
North is an up-and-coming acoustic singer-songwriter who fuses the soulful tones of alternative pop with an indie twist.
According to the artist’s spokesperson, North is “quickly becoming an artist with a loyal following, her music ranges from popular covers to individual ballads, each with their own unique twist. Jen has a distinctive sound that will leave listeners hooked.”
Last month, North landed a support slot for popular indie duet Cattle & Cane at the Hare & Hounds in Birmingham.
Anticipating her upcoming Xmas performance, Jen said: “Performing in my hometown is always a special gig, not to mention the fact that it’s to celebrate the start of Christmas, my favourite time of year. It’s always great to see everyone come together and I can’t wait to showcase some of my new music – I hope they like it.”
Shoppers and visitors can enjoy Jen North’s special performance, the Christmas lights switch-on and seasonal festivities in Bridgnorth High Street from 4pm until 8pm. The event is free to attend.
