It’s Election Day, the day where Britain goes to the polls to make its choice. These are turbulent, decade-defining times, and everyone should exercise their right to vote — including celebrities.
Celebrities are people too, and like the rest of the country, the actors, musicians and rising talent of the UK have been mulling over who to vote for in this general election.
Many have come to a firm decision, and made that decision public in an attempt to help their chosen party win over members of the public. Recently, Handsworth pop star Jamelia made her intentions clear and Birmingham’s award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch shared his thoughts with I Am Birmingham too.
But what do other well known regional TV and media stars think about this election? Who are they going to vote for? We found out…
“Corbyn for me, definitely. Why would you even mention that man’s [Boris] name?”
“That’s a ridiculous question! Jeremy Corbyn, all the way. Everyday. Boris who?”
“Corbyn obviously. Ya dun know. Bun Boris, innit!”
“My heart has always been with Labour. I come from Liverpool and I’ve moved a long way away, but my heart is with them.”
“I don’t have any favourite, I think they’re all second-rate.”
“Neither.”
“I don’t think I can answer that question!”
The General Election is on Thursday 12th December 2019. Polls close at 10pm. Find out where you can vote here.
