Man stabbed multiple times and shots fired in Northfield

West Midlands Police have launched an investigation after a man was stabbed and shots were fired in Kinlet Avenue, Northfield, on Saturday night.

Officers were called to the area in Birmingham at around 6.15pm on Saturday 7th March, where a 41-year-old man had been stabbed several times while he sat in a black BMW car parked in the road.

He was taken to hospital with several stab wounds to his arms, chest and legs and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Soon after the stabbing, shots were fired in the road and an investigation is now underway to trace the three offenders, two of whom may have left in a silver car according to police.

In a statement issued by West Midlands Police there were no injuries caused to anyone from the firearm being discharged at the location where the stabbing took place.

A large cordon remains in place today in Kinlet Avenue and Staple Lodge Road as police officers conduct an investigation.

Sergeant Richard Forrester from the Force CID team, said:

“I would ask anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area last night, to speak to us as soon as possible.

“I would also be keen to hear from anyone who has any dash cam footage which could have captured events either before or after the stabbing.

“CCTV and house-to-house enquiries continue today and we will be doing all we can to find those involved.”

This latest stabbing comes in the wake of the knifing of a teenager in the neck in Nechells and the knife attack on two men in Stony Lane, Smethwick, which took place in the last few days in the Midlands.
