Police are hunting a knifeman after a teenager was attacked and stabbed in the neck near a row of shops in Nechells around 9pm last night.

West Midlands Police have confirmed officers responded to a call regarding a stabbing near a Dixy Chicken in Duddeston Mill Road in Nechells, Birmingham, just after 9pm on Friday 6th March.

An ambulance crew arrived at the scene and the 16-year-old stab victim was moved into the ambulance on a stretcher and then taken to hospital.

Police sealed off the scene and began an immediate investigation. Officers are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the row of shops which line the location where the stabbing took place.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the knife attack to come forward.

West Midlands Police issued a statement regarding the incident:

“We are investigating a stabbing inside a shop on Duddeston Mill Road in Nechells, Birmingham, just after 9pm last night (Friday 6th March).

“A 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the neck and taken to hospital, though his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening at this time.”
