Green Lane Masjid, located near the corner of Coventry Road and Green Lane, has been organising public Eid events in Small Heath Park for a number of years.

People are advised to start arriving at 8am and be in place for the prayer service which will commence promptly at 9:30am.

If the weather changes and it rains, worshippers are welcome to attend the indoor prayer service at Green Lane Masjid.

This year, due to concerns raised by local residents regarding traffic congestion and parking, organisers have listened to community volunteers and activists and a number of measures will be put in place to reduce traffic in the local area and make the occasion more joyous and memorable for everyone.

Free car parking will be offered at St. Andrew’s stadium, the home of Birmingham City FC. The free car parking at the football ground will be available between 7am until 6pm.

St. Andrew’s Shopping Park, located across the road from the Blues ground, will offer free car parking from 7am until 11am.

Green Lane Masjid will offer a free shuttle service from the corner of Fordrough Lane and Bordesley Green, outside the South & City College campus. Worshippers will be collected at 8:30am, with a return journey after the prayer service at 11am.

A number of roads near Small Heath Park will be closed off and manned by traffic management operatives, between 7am until 5pm, to ensure the safety of local residents, pedestrians and other motorists. Only residents with permits issued by officials will be allowed to enter the affected roads.

The list of road closures includes:

Tennyson Road
Waverley Road
St. Oswalds Road
Dora Road
Mansel Road

The Eid al-Adha festivities in Small Heath Park – a fun fair will also open its gates at 10am until 9pm – are open to all and people are encouraged to come along, watch, chat, and enjoy the food and drinks on offer at the various stalls, and to sample arts and crafts, including henna designs.
