West Midlands Police have launched a murder investigation after a man found with serious injuries in Birmingham has died.
The man was discovered in the hallway of a block of flats in Guild Close, Ladywood – not far from Ladywood Middleway near Five Ways and the city centre – at around 9.10am today (8 October), according to the force.
“Tragically nothing could be done to revive the man, understood to be aged in his 30s, and he was confirmed dead at the scene,” a police statement confirmed.
“We’re in the very early stages of our investigation and currently carrying out extensive enquiries in the area.”
A forensic post mortem to establish the man’s cause of death will be held in due course.
Police have urged anyone with information can contact them via 101 or Live Chat on our website, quoting log 1012 of 8 October. Alternatively, members of the public can ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
