Middle Eastern eatery Damascena opens its fifth coffee house in Birmingham

One of Birmingham’s most successful Middle Eastern food franchises has opened the doors to its fifth coffee house today.

An exciting new addition to Lyndon House in Hagley Road, award-winning eatery Damascena‘s latest Edgbaston restaurant will complement the building’s office space and gym, taking customers on a journey of the senses with its vibrant menu and decor.

Located right opposite the metro line and with free on site parking for patrons, the ‘local far-away coffee house’ is easily accessible from both inside and outside the city centre.

With venues already on Temple Row, as well as in Harborne, Moseley, and the Jewellery Quarter, Damascena’s founder, Anas Zein Al-Abdeen, is excited to bring the coffee house’s distinct vibe to another part of the city.

“I can’t quite believe that only eight years ago we were opening our first coffee house in Moseley, we’ve come so far in this time!” he said.

“The Edgbaston venue is a bold move in the current climate but one that we are very excited about, particularly given its prime location within a busy office block in Edgbaston village. We’re honoured to be bringing our unique menu and distinct vibe to another part of our beloved city, creating new jobs in the process.”

Damascena’s Edgbaston branch was designed by another local independent, Digbeth-based Faber, “to reflect the majesty of the Middle East”. It boasts a spacious heated outdoor seating area and will also house the business’s headquarters. But that’s not all for the Hagley Road coffee house, with the burgeoning brand planning to host a Barista school there in future.

The coffee house chain was established in Moseley in 2014 but now has branches across the city centre from Harborne and the Jewellery Quarter to Temple Row, offering a vibrant combination of Middle Eastern food alongside an exciting drinks menu.

In addition to its eateries, the brand also includes ‘Souk Damascena’ in Balsall Heath and online shop ‘Boutique Damascena’, allowing customers to experience a taste of the Middle East in their own homes.
