West Midlands Police have arrested three people on suspicion of murder of a man found dead at a block of flats in Ladywood, named as Ali Salih Abdalaah.
Officers detained two men, aged 22 and 29, and 41-year-old woman in connection with the death of Abdalaah and they remain in custody for questioning.
The 36-year-old victim was discovered with serious injuries in a hallway in Guild Close – not far from Ladywood Middleway near Five Ways and the city centre – at around 9.10am on 8 October, according to the force.
“Tragically nothing could be done to revive the man, understood to be aged in his 30s, and he was confirmed dead at the scene,” a police statement confirmed.
Following the launch of an investigation and ongoing extensive enquiries in the area, a forensic post mortem was held to establish the Abdalaah’s cause of death.
In a tribute his family said: “Ali was a very humble man with a smile on his face all the time.
“Ali was a very caring family man with two children, he loved his family and dedicated his life for them.”
Police urged members of the public to come forward if they have any details relating to the case. “We’re continuing to appeal for information and you can contact us via 101 or Live Chat on our website, quoting log 1012 of 8 October.”
