Murder investigation launched after teenager knifed in West Midlands

A murder investigation is underway in the West Midlands after a teenager was tragically stabbed to death on Wednesday night (7 December).

Jack Lowe, 18, was killed near the Ikea store in Wednesbury just after 9pm.

The teenager suffered the fatal injuries in parkland off Cook Street, Darlaston. Sadly, despite extensive efforts of paramedics, he died at the scene.

A blue tent and a police cordon remains at the location of the killing and specialist family liaison officers are supporting the family of the victim.

Three teenagers were arrested by police after the fatal stabbing. Two of the suspects in police custody are aged 18, and the third is just 16-years-old.

Detectives are continuing to speak to witnesses and studying CCTV from the surrounding area.

Floral tributes have been for Jack Lowe by his family, friends and members of the shocked local community.

A police spokesperson, said: “We understand that violent incidents, particularly those involving the death of someone so young, are alarming and distressing for the community.

“We will have extra police officers in the area, so please speak to them if you have any concerns.

“We also ask anyone with information, or who witnessed the attack, to please come forward if you haven’t already done so.

“A teenager has lost his life and we need to understand what happened and bring those responsible to justice.”
