Brummie Jacob John is quite the expert at more advanced Calisthenics, which is basically types of exercises that test, push and build a person’s physical strength using body weight.
For most, this can be anything from push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups or aerobic resistance stretching. For others, like Jacob John, this can be anything from ‘swinging’ around on monkey bars, hauling yourself up for some painful-lookin’ pull-ups, and attempting a lot (really, a lot) of complex handstands.
Calisthenics are bodyweight exercises made up of rhythmic movements – such as running, standing, grasping, pushing, etc. – which aim to increase body strength, body fitness, and flexibility, through pulling, pushing, bending, jumping, or swinging movements; using one’s body weight for resistance.
This form of training can also benefit muscular and aerobic conditioning, improving psychomotor skills including balance, agility and coordination. And this Brummie lad has managed to use the flexibility of the fitness style to sculpt himself a very impressive physique.
Remember, always seek professional guidance and/or assistance before attempting any kind of strenuous activity. To watch more of Jacob John’s Calisthetics training, check out his Instagram: @jacobjohnukj.
