VIDEO: Birmingham 2022 | Amerah Saleh discusses her Birmingham 2022 handover poem ‘Tourist in My City’

Award-winning Birmingham spoken word artist, author and poet Amerah Saleh discusses her poem ‘Tourist in My City’ ahead of her live performance during the Commonwealth Games handover ceremony, which will be watched by around 1 billion people worldwide, on Sunday 15th April.

The performance will be part of an official handover from the Gold Coast to Birmingham, featuring Brummie performers including 2,022 young people; and complimented by a short film from Daniel Alexander, a musical number from Lady Sanity and a dance performance choreographed by Rosie Kay. Principal Birmingham Royal Ballet dancer Celine Gittens will also be performing.

The official Birmingham 2022 handover ceremony takes place on Sunday, 15 April 2018, and will be broadcast live on BBC Two from 11am.
