West Midlands Police were called to reports of a stabbing in the Garretts Green area of Birmingham at 4:20pm this afternoon (Wednesday 12 February).

A 15-year-old boy was found on Sheldon Heath Road with a stab wound to his head and has been taken to hospital for treatment to his injury, which fortunately is not thought to be serious.

An investigation is underway to determine what happened and the exact location of where the attack took place.

Local residents said around five police cars were present on Sheldon Heath Road, and West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed medics were called to the scene at 4.30pm.

A spokeswoman said: “We were called to Sheldon Heath Road at 4.30pm to reports of a stabbing. An ambulance and paramedic officer is at the scene.”

Police officers have increased their presence in the area this evening, while they conduct further enquiries and provide reassurance.
