Violent Star City teenage machete attack gang arrested and charged
Six teenagers have been charged by detectives investigating the ‘mass fight’ at Star City in Birmingham last November which resulted in police officers being injured by teenagers armed with weapons including machetes.
Seven police officers were left with injuries as trouble flared at the Vue cinema and spilled out into the complex on 23 November 2019.
The mass brawl also left many families traumatized who were visiting Star City when the violence erupted.
West Midlands Police have released the names of the teenagers who have been arrested in connection with the incident and are due to appear in court.
Akeeb Ali, aged 19, of Bordesley Green Road, in Bordesley Green, will appear at Birmingham magistrates court on 1st April 2020 accused of assaulting a police officer.
A 15-year-old accused of attempted wounding and possession of an offensive weapon and will appear in the same court on 31st March 2020.
A 15-year-old accused of assaulting two police officers will appear at the court on 29th April 2020.
A girl aged 13 will appear in the same court on 9th April 2020 accused of assaulting three three police officers, and a racially aggravated public order offence.
A boy and a girl aged 14 have already admitted a public order offence and assaulting a police officer respectively. These two individuals were given four month referral orders.
